I've been writing a missing scene based on this observation, and I don't know whether this has been noted elsewhere or not because I'm not reading any forum posts or meta pages right now due to being a rampant spoiler phobe who has not seen the promo or any ads and intends to stay that way, but I just plain can't sit on this observation any longer.
Ash wears the watch on his left wrist, as most right-handed people do. (Cap from Supernatural.TV):
In the wreckage, the watch is on a right wrist. (Cap by
marishna, lightened a little):
Take a look at where the thumbnail (flat, slightly lighter patch just down from Dean's bracelet) is in relation to the rest of the hand. It's crossing over top of the palm and the nail is facing out to the right. If it was a left hand palm up, the thumb would be on the other side, and if it was a left hand palm down, the thumb would be out to the side, or underneath. That's a right hand, palm up, with the watch face on the inside of the wrist.
I could be completely wrong here, but unless Ash switched his watch to his right hand for a reason, that is not Ash's hand.
Make of that whatever you will. Some of what I'm making of it might be up later today, I hope.
