Scottish holiday pics

OK, well I haven't posted here for a while, mainly as I haven't had much to post about. But we had a nice few days in Scotland last week so I thought I'd share a few photos. It's gorgeous up there, isn't it! We had a holiday in Poolewe a few years ago, the first time I'd been that far north, and I was blown away by the scenery. Mind you, I was less impressed by the midges - I was eaten alive! *g*

My Dad was based in Loch Ewe for a while during WW2 too, so it was quite emotional retracing his footsteps.

It really is. I thought it would be pretty but was unprepared for *stunning*. I don't know Poolewe, must look and see where it is. I don't know why but we didn't see any midges. Possibly the wrong time of year.

I bet it was emotional, but fascianting I suspect.

I went to Loch Ness and Inverness back in 85-6. I don't think the sun ever really shines on that place; it was just as dark as your shots of the countryside. Poor people must crave sunshine. Look at all that heather on the moors.

We were lucky and had quite nice weather in Inverness. Those skies were on the mountain road and we got rain on the west coast. I think they get some sun in Inverness, just not very much. LOL!
