I-i tried to let it go...but it wouldn't leave...He's not doing anything bad though...s-so maybe...just for a little while...?

Keeping it free leaves it open to being trampled. Someone could just as easily apply pressure to his back, and all of the rat's insides will meet the outside world. We wouldn't want that, would we?
