So Ryan and I had the geekiest conversation yesterday about games and such. It all started because he recently became addicted to
Sudoku. So he emailed me some links about it figuring I would enjoy it as well. It's kind of like my secret obsession with
reversi.
Then we started talking about all kinds of stuff and eventually started talking about Magic. He used to play in high school. We proceeded to spend the next 20 mins talking about all the different decks we used to play and such. It was SOOOO geeky. I loved it.
At one point he said something about me being cute. I of course blushed. I told him he is too good to me. He said "I don't think I'm good enough to you." AHHHHHH!!!
So this morning I went on a hunt. Seems the version of Sudoku he uses was Shareware and wants him to spend $15 on it. HA! So I found a few things. First was
this. But that (though it claims to be platform independent) requires GnomeConf which is not. So it won't run on Windows (though it MAY run on my Linux box under KDE). The nice thing is, it is written in Python. So I went digging deeper and found
this. Now this runs nicely under Windows, but is not a complete game and is still under development. Gee, if only Ryan knew a kick ass python developer who could use the solid code from the Gnome one to augment the PyGame one and make it a full featured application. Oh wait, that'd be me!!! :-D
So I texted him this morning to let him know I have a present for him. My goal is to get the PyGame version compiled into a windows exe to make his life easy. Then I will use the code from the Gnome one to fill in the holes and make it a kickass version. YAY!!!
Totally dork love!
