Yesterday I went in to the AFP to do some work on the new Raman microscope. (It's really, really cool. And sexy. I want to mate with it.) And the new electron microscope was there, it also is really hot, in a machinistic sort of way. But that's beside the point ( Read more... )

And btw, you should add some spice packets to the microscope. *nods* (yesyes, i know it's not ramen, it's raman)

Well, that's right. I was their #1 pick. They feel I have skills that no Australian applicants could demonstrate, and the National Director knows I'm driven, talented, professional, and very capable. After completing my Honours degree with the Chemical Criminalistics guys, I'll have the distinct honour (hee!) of publishing papers with the two most senior Forensic Chemists in the AFP. I'll be in there every day. And so on. I'm not worried about my future prospects for a job - and I never was, I always knew that in 6 years when I get citizenship, I'd be able to walk into an AFP job easily. :)

Mmm chicken & mushroom Raman microscope noodles *drool* Oh man, I want Ramen for lunch now...
