Well, I'm getting a brand-new laptop thanks to the criminals who stole my shitty old one! It's the "base" version but ... I think it's actually got better specs than my desktop

Heh. It took me 10 trips with my new 512MB flash drive to get all my research home to back up on the laptop to begin with! It was 80+ photographs in raw file format ... they were huuuuuge.

Yes the puppy is cute I want I want I want NOW! No Australian breeders though ... I'll have to get one from the US when I come back in 2008. I hope they won't confiscate him at the border :(

Yeah, thieves suck. But, new laptop is sweetness in electronic form, so ... overall, I have to laugh at them for taking perhaps the most useless object they've ever stolen in their lives, garnering me a brand-new and beautiful replacement ;)
