still, it's pretty yummy. at least in my book. and might i suggest that if you and the dobo (who i'm guessing is the hubby, yes?) are looking for an interesting, potentialy romantic, and uniquely american (in a good way) experience when you get back to the states, you go to The Fort restaurant up near Morrison. it's owned by a friend of my dad's and boasts decor and cooking a la the cowboy and indian days. it's awesome. and i believe that for St. Patrick's Day they serve corned buffalo and hash (or cabbage or something, i dunno) which ought to be worth a laugh at least.
blah blah blah i'll tell you more over that cup of (irish, mmm? i crack me up...) coffee we're going to have once we're both back in the states. which will be oh so soon! yay!

I had a salt beef (?) sandwich in London which was so very similar to corned beef. And yes, I admit, I learned something from a movie of the pop culture variety...it was that Brad Pitt/Harrison Ford flick (I think some kind of Tom Clancy thing?) in which Pitt shows the world how crappy his fake Irish accent is & there is some dialogue about corned beed & cabbage being american not irish. Speaking of fake Irish accents, I just do not understand why there can't be REAL Irish actors cast as Irish characters in cinema. I suppose that's also my beef abt casting non-indians in Native American roles (ala Daniel Day Lewis, etc.)

because apparently colm meaney is the only irish actor that america seeks to employ. i mean colin farrell puts on a fake irish accent... which is funny. cillian murphy only gets cast in irish films, not american ones. americans must think that all irish people are colm meaney.
american hollywood is not very accepting of change. and so, someone decided long ago to make irish=colm meaney.
