as a follow up -- "The Art of Fielding" guy was kind of a dud. It was almost like he had not read or researched his own book. It took him ten years to write it, and I am pretty sure that his publishing connections helped hype and sell it to publishers. The story is not super original and it seems out of touch with reality in several aspects (but, it is a work of fiction. . . so . . . ). HBO has bought the rights for it.

I wonder if they have done a plagiarism check? Hearing the guy TRY to talk about his own work set off my academic spidey senses.
