Eleven years later give or take a week, I go to the same rock festival, walk through the same gates, to the same stage, at the same time of day, to see the same band, wearing a T-shirt I bought at the gig eleven years ago. Thanks for writing this up. We could hear it from our house, but didn't go this year. dmw unwilling these days to pay a large amount of money for the endless inconveniences of musical festivals. I suppose I could have gone.

Er, if Gold Bloom does start appearing anywhere I can hear them, you will let me know?

As for stagnation, have you seen the so-called Future Music Festival line-up? New Order, Fatboy Slim and the Aphex Twin. I loves them all, but still...

I may have been exaggerating slightly about their being too obscure for YouTube, though the recordings there are rubbish. Unfortunately, the group is shiny and new enough not have a website, only a facebook link, which doesn't want to work in the pseudo-Friends page over there the way it should. Back shortly, I'm just going to hold Mark Zuckerberg hostage until he fixes that bug. There is a gig scheduled for this coming Friday-but at 5pm . . .

I googled for the gig, but found it was $120 for the Laneway Festival on a rainy evening. Next time maybe. Surely they'll play the Wheatsheaf or Grace Emily eventually.

. . . well (bloody Facebook, once again) they're apparently doing the Tuxedo Cat opening this evening. Which as at the old jazz club on North Terrace this year. At least the entry fee isn't insane . . .
