It does look like an important film... I really hope it does well! I follow its "official" page on FB and they've been going around the country showing it to veterans' groups and it's been really well received there, so I'm hopeful it'll do well with the wider audience.
That looks SO GOOD. And you know, I bet my dad would love it too, and since his birthday is on January 30th... Might just be an excellent birthday movie for him too. :D
If it's not a good movie, then it certainly won't be the fault of the cast. Plenty of excellent actors. It may be a difficult film to watch, because of the subject, but I'm hoping it will be moving and leave me feeling uplifted when I walk out of the theater.
Hubby and I have tried watching the Jack Ryan series but either we weren't in the right frame of mind or it just wasn't our cuppa. We found ourselves bored after just a couple eps.
My favorite Jack Ryan is still the original one: Alec Baldwin, even though he's a class-A jerk in real life. "The Hunt For Red October" is still one of my top ten movies.
