part II-ethics,morals and compromise in the Big Mango

The Big Mango-a term actually used by the wealthy here-to be oh so "cute"-yes they do know about the kids picking the trash to eat, but prefer to wear Jimmy Choos shoes-which I have immorally taken part in promoting via totally selling-out "text"-reference hopefully not meant to be totally clear. You do live somewhere. You life is here in America. You ARE an American. You WILL come HOME one day. Until then - play the part as much as you can tolerate. Stay alive. Stay well. Stay close to your children. Remind them of life here. In their memories - Cairo is probably all they remember at this point. Memories are fragile at their age. Remind them ! Remind them!!! Talk about HOME! Its reminding you too. Cairo is not home. It never will be. Cairo is a tourist destination for westerners. It is not home. We all know this. *hugs*

My daughter remembers..my son is reminded. Today, I was looking at the Atlas-I am an American(who is geographically challenged). I am strong, even when-or maybe-especially when-I am afraid. OKay-it will be before Christmas-no matter what-I already called airlines regarding take-ons-actually, my material belongings consist of gold-so I will arrive looking very "Saudia" but minus the paper cash. Shit..I do want to bring my big dictionary-but hell-everything else can just stay-I heard Cairo is overdue for an earthquake anyway.....By the way, Thank you-every angel gets an angel.....sandy

I wish you were here, in southern California. Public schools aren't the greatest, but the kids are well-behaved and people are nice here.

Besides, I think we'd have a lot to chat about. Heck, just being able to enjoy some good old fashioned American comfort food, I'm sure, would be extremely therapeutic for you and the kids.

If wishes had wings, then S.CA would be choice #1...I thought about you while Not-Cooking-I actually do like to cook, but have not been doing so, mostly because I am physically or psychologically unable to eat the local fare....I want to cook some serious all-day simmering Italian dishes-my grandmother's way...a chat over "real" lasagna sounds yummy! sandy
