Elise!
I have a question for you. What do you use as far as deodorant/antipersperant goes? Perhaps I am mistaken, but don't you use like a stick of something all fab and good for you. I need advice on what's great all natural stuff and really easy on my skin. For that matter what kind of good soaps (body and face) are there along the same line ( Read more... )

she uses a "deodorant rock." for that matter, so do I. it's a rock of mineral salts that are supposed to help with odor-causing bacteria. I don't know that it's really better for you; the mineral salts are mostly aluminum-based, which are also in commercial antiperspirants. but the important thing is that the salts are left naturally on your skin when the water evaporates, and you aren't left with the nasty pore-clogging gunk that you get with most deodorants.

I'm really allergic to most deoderants/antipersperants, too, and my skin breaks out under my arms when I use them, and I haven't had any trouble with this kind. I've been using it since high school, and love it. it doesn't leave a residue, because it's just a clear layer of salts, and you can still breathe, and don't just move sweat to another part of your body, which is what happens with regular anti-perspirant. This will not keep you from sweating, if that is what you want, but will keep you from smelling funky. it takes a little while to start really working, because the buildup from years of reg. deoderant/antiperspirant use has to work out of your skin. BUT I highly recommend it. I use one by NOW, that you wet and apply, but Kiss My Face also makes one--it's a liquid, that rolls on like Ban or something. we can talk about it when you get back ( ... )

http://www.nowfoods.com/?action=itemdetail&item_id=3662 << that's the deoderant I use, though I use it in an applicator form and this is the one that sits on a soapdish-type thing.

this is the kiss-my-face listing of all their natural deoderants. I really like kiss my face products; they're super nice.

god, WHY don't I work at freaking Dodson's!!????? I so love health food and natural products.

...just in case you weren't sick of hearing about deoderant.

I am only on the 2nd deoderant rock I've ever had, which means that they last 2+ years and usually you'll drop the damn thing and break it before it would run out. er, I mean, that's what I did. so even though they run a little more than regular deoderant, they last for a loonggg time.

I seriously promise not to comment to myself anymore.
