A couple of years ago, I registered caitlinburke.com and then promptly forgot about it. The registrar sent me a reminder to confirm my contact information recently, and I thought, what the heck, why not use it. My plan is to post every weekday, a mix of what's on my mind and photography (mine and pointers to others').

I missed this post first time through -- can't imagine what had me distracted at the time -- so I'm happy to happen across it now by chance.

Care to comment on your choice to move activity away from LJ towards a personally-controlled site? Several of my friendslist have made this step lately, in whole or part. Without a narrative, it's hard to judge whether their reasons are coherent or varied.

LJ was more of a t.b replacement for me than anything else. A personally controlled site is a web presence or a publishing platform in a way that LJ never was for me.
