web hosting question

Ok, since I've never had to have a site hosted - Can someone tell me if this is enough?? Or do I need more???

100 Gb is probably bigger than the hard drive on your computer. Even with a lot of graphics files, 100 Gb will be more than enough. Just to give an example, the 4 sites we host at work take up just shy of 3 Gb. You'll be fine with 100 Gig. :) I'm thinking that actually, 50 Gb would be enough.

the 100Gb # doesn't refer to the amount of data on the disk, but to the amount of data pushed through the pipe to people viewing the site. For example, if the page is 100Mb, and 3 people view it per day, that's 300Mb. And so on...

So, what kind of site is it that's being hosted, and how many hits do you think you might get?

a 100 GB data transfer, gods yes, I have porn clients that use less that than in 6 months.

I run a store, http://www.witchgear.com, on an adv. I use around 2mb's a month. The more images you have the more you need. My company lets you start on the 9.95 a month plac, with 3 gb's a month and move up as you need, no contracts, no overage fees. The big thing to watch, is storage space.
