The biggest action of my day was when my keys got stuck in my lock as I was trying to sneak out to Starbucks before the swimming started on the Olympics. That book is on my "to read" list, but I have doubts about it. Mostly because the friends who recommend it to me are the ones who read stuff like the Shopaholic series. But a couple of friends who are very much into literature liked it, too. Hmph.
I agree-why waste your time if you're not enjoying it? I usually try to push through thinking I've got to get to a point where it picks up. If it hasn't done that for you, toss it! Gordon and I do the same with movies now. I used to push through those so I feel like I can look at them objectively, but if it's not interesting? Well, damn, I've got much better things to do!

The weather in Texas sounds unbearable for me. I've been so excited to come home to cool and rainy weather!!

Yeah, I decided to stop reading it and started another book that seems like it will be much more promising. I made it to 50 pages and doubt it's going to get much better. It's disappointing because the premise sounds interesting. Maybe you'll find it more enjoyable!

Yeah, the weather is pretty bad down here. We've had 90 or higher degrees since April and it will cool down towards the end of September. I can totally relate to your desire to return to cooler weather! I'm counting down the months until I can do the same.

You either hate or love that book. I started reading it about March during Spring Break & I hated it so I stopped reading it after about 50 pages. Like you said, there are other books out there that I WANT to read & why waste it on one I don't like... :)
