The Gelsers are coming home today instead of yesterday. For various reasons, they missed their flight yesterday, so I had to cancel the plans that I had for today. I'm hoping that it works out to reschedule them for tomorrow. Otherwise I won't be happy

Roll your clothes, don't fold them. Things fit better that way. If you're packing shoes, stuff socks or something inside of them. It's just wasted space if you don't. Stuff big fluffy things that have lots of air in them (jackets, etc) into plastic bags and tape it down. The air compresses and you're left with the smallest possible amount. Fit things inside of things when possible, and try to fit your rolled up/folded up/packaged up things into each other like puzzle pieces. It minimizes wasted space in the suitcase. If all else fails, ship the leftovers to yourself in a box. :)
