I do not know "Mardi Gras", but you are correct in assuming that this is not New Orleans. The locals call it Disturbia.

Disturbia hm? Well well. That's not where I was when I woke up this mornin. That's for sure.
Merci, chere. Might I get your name?

It is normal to have no recollection of how you arrived here -- at least, from what we have determined 'normal' to be.

[There was a slight pause. She finds his phrasing unique.]

I am Seven of Nine. State your designation.

My...designation?
[a small pause]
Ah. People call me Gambit usually. But you. You can call me Remy.

Oui. Beads. It's Mardi Gras and I am a man, after all, no?

... I seriously have no idea what you're talking about.

[Even moreso than with most new arrivals, she means.]

Mhm. Now, on any other day, I couldn't tell you what day o' the week it is, but New Orleans lets me know 'bout 4 days: Noël, Jour de l'An, Mardi Gras, an' o' course la Résurrection.

King Cake is my favorite part of Mardi Gras, but I haven't seen any celebrations here. Perhaps it is because of the storm.

Aha! So that's why there's no party!
Now my frien'...why aren't you speaking with me as I'm speaking with you? I feel it's only appropriate to answer speech with speech, no?

[The voice is low and polite, but not as expressive as it might be.]

Text is simply my personal preference.

I am not sure that large public celebrations are the usual habit here. We are certainly not in New Orleans.
