Yesterday was the Red Dress Run here in New Orleans. It's supposed to be an actual run, but it turns out to be a bar crawl for most. Ended up down in the Quarter for about 12 hours. You can buy a cheap used 70-300mm for around $100. The "ED" version is probably $250. The current new one with the silent autofocus and VR is about $550! Lots of options.

Well I do have the 70-200, but I didn't bring it with me since I was in the Quarter and it's heavy (and remember what happened last time I brought it to the Quarter for Superbowl?!?).
