Wow, I am ready for a different job. These people take themselves way too seriously. I was scheduled to work 4 to 10, but they still expected me to get the job done in 4 hours. The past two nights that I had been scheduled 10pm to 7am they let me go at 5 or 5:30am. They really must think that most people live like illegal immigrants (20 people to a ( Read more... )

haha! thats a good question. since they dont give a work schedule two weeks in advance, you should think not, huh? i worked retail, and did not give them notice when i quit. just walked in, told em i was not working that day, nor the next day, nor ever again!

but theres a bridge i wish i hadnt burned. ah well.

my suggestion: if you find a job thats good enough to make you quit on the spot, i say why not! otherwise, as much notice as you can give em should be good enough.

thanks, yep. I'm thinking since NC, like TN is no reason to hire, no reason to fire, and since I told them I need full time and they put me on part time and dont give me the courtesy of knowing my own schedule, I'd give em a week's notice. The guys I work with are cool, but I took this job cause I needed money, and considering I am college educated, I think they really have to understand that this type of job isnt something I want to stick with. Besides, I think 1 week is good enough since thats the amount of time it took me to take all the tests, drug test, etc.

again, thanks for the advice.

Yes, give 2 weeks notice. Even if they don't give you a whole 2 weeks of work.
