[Ever since Bil/Catherine/whatever told him that the sword Guy lost would probably be returned, Luke checked the weapon shop every day in the hopes of finding it. The days he didn't find it were met with a disheartened sigh, half-hearted lingering to check out the rest of the weapons, then wandering back home. He remained hopeful, though, always

That's when he realizes that someone called him, and he pauses, blinks, then looks over his shoulder.]
... Oh, Winry! Hey! [He sure sounds relieved and happy.]

[Finally, he lifts it up. This is the sword that's been hanging in his foyer since before Luke was even born...]
Do you know when you got this?

Hey Luke?

But the knock and the voice makes him jump and spin around, and... there's the Jewel of Gardios, gripped awkwardly in Luke's left hand as he raises it up a little with surprise.]
Whoa, Guy! Jeez, say something before you...
[... Ah, right. The sword is. Kind of right there, huh.
So much for formal.]

...found that, did you?
[He'd thought he would never see it again. Had resolved to let it go.]

[How did he practice this? Luke had just about gotten it right before Guy bolted him out of it, and now everything he'd rehearsed had flown out of his head. He turns the sword slightly in his hand - dammit, dammit, what had he told himself to say?
Then again... Maybe it's better this way.
Luke holds out the sword with one hand... then thinks better of it, leans it to the side to lay the flat side of it in his other hand, and then offers it to Guy.]
I'm sorry for making you lose it.

so it's a very tired poppet that crashes into bed that night, staying awake just long enough to check her journal for anything pressingly important.

Okay. [ her voice is soft, but amiable. she sounds alright, at least. ]

Good... [And then he lifts it up with a slight smirk.] You didn't turn purple this time, huh?

He's so lucky, man.]
I still think you could've scared all those enemies off just by growling at them. [He makes a light growling sound and makes mock fangs with his free hand, a very quiet, way less dramatic reenactment of his attempts to cheer her up when she first told him about what happened.]

[even if you weren't actually meaning to talk to her.]

Good. Better than good, actually! [He's still worried about the people he cares about out there, of course, but finding the sword and finally being able to give it to Guy has left him in good spirits.]

Things could have gone more smoothly, but it's all right now.

I'm just glad to hear you're okay. Actually, you sound kind of tired... [... Well, obviously, she'd just been fighting hard and all. Luke seems to realize that as soon as the sentence leaves his mouth, as his smile falls away in favor of rolling his eyes and running a hand through his hair.] ... Sorry, that was a stupid thing to say.

What about you and the rest of the village? How are things faring there?

It's been pretty much the same... It's kind of boring without you guys here.
