[It takes some time for him to respond, to return and talk with Asch before sitting in one of the chairs and realizing that he should really get another mattress for his now empty bed frame. But first...

... Tear. He stares down at that response for a while, unsure of how he should react. She and everyone else have been hiding so much, haven't they -

No, no no no. It's... okay now. He shakes his head and pushes those dark thoughts aside; even with all of that, it's good to hear her voice after all those days away. A voice that knows him this time.]

[Asch is at home in the living room area when Luke returns, perusing one of his texts and the notebook where he'd sketched some theories and glyphs out during the AU week. It's strange, how differently his skills have developed. Why an artist? Was there so little else to keep him occupied? Still, it was better than behind some sort of uneducated brute.

He doesn't even look up when the door opens.]

[Luke sees Asch right away, reading that same big book that he'd been doing so for the past few months now. What was it about, anyway...?

But a longer look makes a feeling rise up in Luke's chest. Bitterness, again... Asch knew Ion was dead, right? And yet he never thought to tell Luke, even if it was so important to know... What other things was he hiding? Of course, he wasn't really surprised - Asch never really told him anything like that. But still...

Luke looks away as he shuts the door behind him.]

[Asch still doesn't really look- his gaze shifts to Luke briefly, then down again, obviously not thrilled or impressed. He can tell Luke's annoyed, but Asch's expression probably makes it clear that he doesn't care. The last few days have given him time to reflect on the experiment, and none of the conclusions he's come to have been good. His family has been toyed with enough, he didn't need it to get even more broken.

And the replica as his brother... how laughable.]

[Luke doesn't even see Asch's expression - he just keeps his hand against the door while he keeps his gaze on the floor. This is certainly awkward for him, too; hell, the two of them shared the same bed a couple of times when they had nightmares. Luke had even felt him stroke his hair while he was trying to sleep...
