Mired in paperwork for the little dude's citizenship/passport application. I'm here at LJ because it's turned out to be an excellent way of establishing the dates I've been out of the US. I need to account for every trip which has taken me away from the US ( Read more... )

every trip?? are you serious? what the hell reason could they possibly need to know all of that information? ridiculous. good luck to you guys on the london trip. hopefully tobias is relaxed and sleepy the whole trip! *crosses fingers*

ps. thanks for the rundown on all of the baby gear! we've really started to ramp up and get our acts together to prepare for our little dude's arrival. i have some stuff i really need to send you before he makes his entrance. and i'll write up a snooze of a post with our shopping experiences. you'll probably be the only one that will read it. haha.

yeah it was really, really tedious trying to keep track of it. Plus, it wasn't like, just writing down each trip. It was a bit backwards, having to write the date for the end of the previous trip, 'through' the beginning of the next trip. cause they wanted me to account for all of my time IN the US. bleh.

I'll be sending a parcel at some point this month. I was intending to save it for after the date, but we'll see. I've just been accumulating some small things, and I bought a really cute (well, we think so!) toy thing in London while we were there. The shopping is sooo much better there.. speaking of, my mom wanted to know if there's anything you still need, she'd like to get you something. I told her I'd ask!

I didn't mean to bore you, specifically, with the baby post! :D I thought you might be interested, but I know a couple of other people here who just like the idea of saving money on stuff.

Hope things are going good there!

Something's afoot at the Circle K. There are no Circle Ks in NY, so the first time I saw one was in Las Vegas. Suffice it say there was a lot of alcohol consumption and I ravaged the store while continually saying the above. I thought it was funny...not so sure any one else did.

Sorry for all the red tape drama. Hopefully, it will eventually go smoother than expected.

haha yeah I remember that quote as well. I hadn't seen a Circle K, either, but I knew of them (maybe from a tv show or something.)

Thanks! The trip turned out just fine. The baby was really calm all day, and didn't even get cranky on the train home, waaay past bedtime. good dude.

yeah I don't know what the deal is. Well, I know a bit about it. It has to do with the reason we're allowed to live here (cookieman's nationality.) We're able to live here under EU regulations, and that's different, bureaucracy-wise, to having moved here under other circumstances. We're able to apply for citizenship after having lived here for 5-6 years, and at that point, the little dude will be eligible, as well. It's a very long explanation. :/
