To people who know anything about computers...

Is there something you can buy for a lap top to plug in it that is an alternate monitor? Like it will project not what your own screen has on it, but what your actual computer is showing...because the streaks on my monitor caused by a blunt trauma appear to be getting worse.

HELP!!!

You may have to talk to someone at an electronics store to figure out exactly how to do it but my friend at school had his laptop set up like that.

His was a Mac but you should be able to do it on yours too. I guess all I can tell you is that it can be done but i don't know exactly how.

ooooooh, do you have one of the red see-throughish streak things going down your computer screen, too? i would just buy another monitor oooooor if you have a warranty. i don't know, that situation is a toughy, but i know new monitors for laptops are expensive unless yours is relatively new. :)

I think if you have the right type of port on your laptop (I'm thinking it's called a serial port...might have a monitor logo above it) then you can plug a monitor right into your laptop. I know at school I've had to bring in my laptop and plug into a projector for a presentation and it's worked just fine. I believe the port looks like a printer port, only about 1/3 as long. Good luck!
