I want to know why a university that is 70% female has had a male SGA president for at least the past 3 years...and all the new prospective candidates are men.

You should see the recommendations for female recipients of the Top 100 award. In most cases, they're fundamentally different from the male recommendation letters. It is an interesting phenomenon that perhaps we should discuss sometime. :)

According to many female professors I trust...Butler is about 30 years behind most other universitites in regards to gender equality (in multiple ways...the most obvious being the representation in higher positions.)

they feel grossly outnumbered and holding a position of power such as a presidency is the only way they can justify their masculinity. ;)

Hehe possibly...maybe it's not "justify their masculinity" as much as it's "assert they even have masculinity" :)

Sounds like all the women need to go to an all womens college for a while, and realize that women should be running things. GOSH.

You know, I used to make fun of you for that...but now I think my honors thesis will end up having a component that endorses single sex educations :)
