theProject Runway Episode 1
Be forewarned, I wrote this while I was watching the show, there was no filter. :)
I like to write down quotes I hear from all sorts of things and these were just a few that popped out at me.
Highlights a.k.a Quotes: “I was afraid if New York would eat me, or would I eat New York.” - Casanova
Sara Trost “Is this totally gross and ugly or the cutest thing you’ve ever seen.”
Peach “I am going to be the oldest? Hell to the yes. I’m expecting like a 9 yr old to actually walk in and be my roommate. ”
Kristen “Accidental Apparel Designer. Embrace the Crooked Zipper.”
Mondo “I think if you’re misunderstood than you have something good going on.”
April “I like to take things that look like they’re dying and make beauty out of them. I love to destroy to create.”
Sara, “What do you do in the desert?” Micheal, “Me? I make couture.”
Valerie “Come again? That’s the worst trick ever.”
Episode 1 like all beginnings start off with our lovely contestants touting their luggage and tooting their horns.
You can see that it feels like the judges have scoped out some of their favorites already with who they decide to spotlight their pieces/portfolio.
(PS McKell and Mondo’s were my favorite in this epi. (personal portfolio wise) But Troisi had some interesting concepts with his designer style.)
Gretchen and Troisi automatic awkward silence…that was epic.
Tim Gunn is a god, smiles and claps for Tim.
Thouvenot and Andy are my favorite pieces from this episode. I actually liked McKellʻs dress it would be something I would wear, Iʻd just be wary of the cut of the upper part of her dress.
My first choice for winner though has to be Andy. Why?
Because he had an ENTIRE look, not a partial look, but EVERYTHING
He had a CLEAR vision, I could understand the type of vibe he was going for
His model WORKED it.
☺
Gretchen for the winner of the challenge didnʻt exactly make sense to me, (maybe it was because she had one of the ugliest pieces of clothing with an atrocious amount of appliqué first, dunno) but hey fashion is subjective
