Great story - thanks! justroe January 9 2011, 20:05:17 UTC
Thanks so much for this excellent story - you've combined 3 of my favorite fandoms into a well-written and entertaining AU. The characters from each show read true to their canon personalities and I appreciate that you are presenting some old-fashioned kickass toughness from both the Winchesters and Sheppard. The dialogue is spot on and the overall tone and pace of the entire piece is really very good. I was not expecting the level of gruesomeness in the final fight scene, but it totally worked and I had a short freakout that you were actually going to kill off Sam - I was totally caught up in that scene and aftermath - great writing ( ... )

Thanks! I'm actually a bit surprised all around how gruesome this story is. The opening to the first chapter is so bad! Normally I write angst or hurt comfort, so doing fights was really refreshing change. And I totally get the speed thing. I find that if I post too fast I burn out. I lose track of where I should be and the story just never gets done, which is partly why I pace myself the way I do. The sequel is coming, there have just been RL issues. But it will happen. I also have like 5 different versions of how I can open it, but I think I found the one I need.

Thanks for the review and sorry it took so long for me to respond

Loved it. And it is just like Gabriel to give them what they want but still scr#w them over at the same time. After all he is the Trickster.

Yeah. Stories that make Gabriel all fluffy can be fun but he's an angel with homicidal urges. I can't imagine him being nice for the sake of being nice.

Definitely one of my favorite to reread crossovers. For a sequel can we have Dean and McKay (or someone besides Sam) snarking at each other? I would say John but I can't see him arguing with Dean like Jack would.

Favorite parts:

Chapter One:
Jack's list of having a good year including: Daniel Jackson hadn't died recently.

All of Jack and Dean's snarking especially:
Jack stared at Dean. "You're rather calm about all this." Understatement of the century.
Dean grinned. "Would panicking help?"

Dean's reaction to the Asgard beaming, and SG-1's surprise to that reaction.

****************

Chapter Two:
Sam studied the pile again before glancing at O'Neill. "Jack, they had your schedule."
"Jack doesn't keep a schedule," Daniel cut in, staring skeptically at Sam.
She pressed her fingers to her temple. "I know."
"Oh," Daniel leaned back as the implications of that sank in. He met Jack's eyes. "You really need to start locking your house."
Jack shook his head. "I don't think a lock would have stopped these guys."Nope, locks definitely ( ... )

Chapter Four:

Jack's notes to Elizabeth: "They're your problem now. Have fun." and
The final page in each file contained the transfer papers, providing Dr. Weir with the date of the newest arrivals. She felt queasy as she noted that it was with the Daedalus's next arrival, meaning that Elizabeth had less than a week to solve this new problem and no time to arrange contact with Jack and demand an explanation. She had no doubt that he was the one behind this. Even though Steven hadn't mentioned that the orders came from Jack, Elizabeth knew.
Who else would have labeled the files as H. Solo and C. Bacca?
Did he get the star Wars from Teal'k?

Dean took in a sharp breath to avoid snarking at Colonel Caldwell. The man was an asshat but he was the asshat who had the power to keep Dean trapped on this junker and a wide enough vindictive streak that he just might do it.
Na, after two weeks dealing with Dean, Caldwell probably wants to get rid of them as soon as possible.

He heard Sammy's gasp before he let out one of his own. Something warm ( ... )

Jack's a closet nerd. In the episode 1969 he tells the interrogator that his name is Luke Skywalker.

Cadwell can be pretty aggressive when he wants to be, and Dean did spend most of the trip hiding. I wouldn't put it past him to delay.

Yeah, Sam and Dean got shafted, again, but when you hit the bottom the only direction to go is up, as they say.

It was really fun to write. I like Zelenka as being more than a soundboard for Rodney and I pat myself on the back for epic foreshadowing.

It took Cas years to get acclimated to Sam and Dean. Its part of their charm.

Elizabeth tries too hard. Its going to bite her in the arse one day.

Chapter Five:
"Besides," he grinned, "I can score intergalactic tail. How sweet is that?"
"More like an intergalactic STD," Sam murmured, leaning into Dean's touch as his brother pulled him into an embrace.
You just know that Dean probably would catch some disease like the rapid aging infection that Jack caught in Season 1.

But while the clothing identified the strangers as Earthlings, the way they moved screamed otherwise. Ronon could tell that the Lantians didn't see. Even the man who had led them in was oblivious to the way the strangers' eyes swept through the room, taking in potential threats, exits, and weapons as naturally as their lungs drew breath. The Lantians didn't see the way their shoulders hung loose, not in a state of relaxation but in a state of readiness, so that there would be no tension to slow down the drawing of a weapon.
Yay, someone besides Jack and Teal'k actually looked at them.

Sam dropped his hand before he turned. He gave a dismissive shrug. "I read all the mission reports. Your team did some great work ( ... )

That was wonderful!!! I'm sorry it took so long for me to finish it; rl has been crazy. But I'm so glad I finally did!
I love how in character everyone was, and how believable the whole scene/episode was. Dean and Sam's relationship was wonderfully portrayed, and bug!John's POV was brilliantly written.

I definitely can't wait for more in this verse. =D

I'm sorry it's taken me so long to respond to your review, so we're totally even. Thanks! Bug John was really hard to do. Crazy people are hard to write, which is, well, Crazy!

More will happen, it will just take some time. RL, as you well know.

Thanks for the review!

Wow. That means a lot. Crossovers are actually my favorite when done well because I like stories that are motivated by character, not by plot, so crossovers are a great way to see how this person reacts to situation X. I'm glad I've got you hooked. Yay for causing addictions!

Thanks for the review. Seriously. I've been in a bit of a slump and this one caught me at the perfect time to push me into getting started on the sequel. Much obliged.
