Obviously, I'm not voting, ;), but I have a question/comment. Someone I know doesn't vote (not me, a former coworker). Their logic, at the time, was that they never like/trust/believe in any of the candidates. (considering how dishonest politicians seem to come across as, this is understandable)
Which is the better option, in such a case? - Don't vote - Take the time to register, then go and spoil your ballot - Vote for someone you don't believe in or don't want - Other?
When I was faced with that question, I wasn't sure how to answer it. If you're not voting for someone that you really feel would make a difference or do a good job, then is there really much point to voting? To me, intentionally spoiling your ballot seems more like you're giving the finger to the whole election process, even more so than not voting at all.
I guess I've grown up in the "pick the lesser of two evils" camp. So that would be my take on it. I can see the other points though.
My problem is mainly with the people who want to sit and constantly whine about how crappy the country is, but that's all the work they are willing to do. They don't vote in local elections, even on things like tax increases or city improvements, etc. They just sit back, let other people make the decisions, and then complain about it.
