Today was a very hard day for me emotionally. I kept feeling sad about grandma and then I broke down in Ms. Kendrick's office. She let me hang out in there today and I ended up sleeping in there. I also felt sad about being away from my family. It's funny, I'm only about 45 minutes away, but it feels like an eternity. I think it's because my mom

Losing a family member is hard on its own.
I had a similar scenario with my granny... I didn't see her for the last 2-3 years before she died, and felt bad about it.
In the end though, you've got the important things: She loved/loves you, you love her, and you both knew it. Not visiting doesn't mean that you love her any less, and since she is in a place with a clearer perspective than us living people get, I'm sure she knows that too.
