Are you sure that you learned that in Calc. and not in a more extensive math class? Because I had three semesters of Calc. and am currently in Diff. Eq., and I've never seen that scary thing. ;D And I noticed that no one else had much to say either.

well it's not really as bad as it looks. it's just a sum of partial derivatives which i think i learned in calc III.
