For those wanting to know more about the recent DDoS attacks, yes, it looks like it was the Russian government trying to shut down the dissidents again.

I support this 100% - at no time have I been tempted to move to Dreamwwidth (partly because it seems clunkier and uglier than LJ) ... because of this, OK we had no LJ for almost a week, but if the Russian owners of LJ along with the folk in San Fransisco are sorting it out so that people who need a way of expressing themselves in an otherwise oppressive environment, the inconvenience is worth putting up with ...

I shall 'boost' this too!

I was grumbling about LJ being offline, but I had a nagging suspicion that it was a DDoS attack (again).

Can't let free speech trump frustration with my fannish obsessions.

I'm waiting for you to finish Red Herrings, and then I'm going to read it all in one humongous go, and then give you squee of the highest magnitude considered feedback
