Back during one of the (too many to count) migration-away-from-LJ discussions, I created a Dreamwidth account. I haven't done anything with it, but I set one up just in case fandom as a whole actually did end up leaving LJ

It's happened a number of times, but the one that sticks out in my mind the most is the strikethrough debacle:
A few years ago, LJ started deleting/suspending fandom journals (many times without warning) that they felt violated their TOS. (which really weren't well-defined). When they deleted the journals of a couple of well-known Harry Potter fanartist, shit hit the fan. Fandom got whipped into a fury and people started talking about leaving all together. That's also when fandom_counts was created. For full details, you can go here and here. (or just google "livejournal" and "strikethrough" - there are a number of pages on it)
I don't really see the migration ever happening, but you never know. We fandom-type people can be a little hot headed at times. ;P It's always good to have something set up just in case.
I haven't really posted anything over there (I mostly just use it to track communities/writers I like) but I'm all about friending eachother. At least this way we can keep track of eachother if LJ ever does end up imploding. :) I'm cali0623 over there too. Are you wornoutbirks, or is it under your old LJ name?
