Barbara Ehrenreich: Hillary's Nasty Pastorate

I'm not sure what to make of this. It explains her rightward movement and her top-down politics but it seems a little far-fetched. I'll grant that Huffington Post is not 'objective' but I wouldn't call it paranoid either ( Read more... )

You aren't kidding about seems far-fetched. I very much liked Nickel and Dimed and some op-eds I've read by Ehrenreich over the years, and now am genuinely embarrassed for her, and the Nation (they printed it too, without your disclaimer). (Huffpost prints stuff that loopy all the time, so too late for me to embarrassed for them, though at least they have a diversity of voices there, to some degree, so I don't automatically discount things from there.)

I haven't tried to fact check it yet or seen anyone else who has, but if that's anything other than a wildly distorted and innaccurate smear piece I'll write and post in both my blog and your choice of any of the communities we both belong to, an essay of at least 250 words on any subject of your choosing, taking any position of your choosing (so long as you stay away from things like pedophilia, beastiality, and things that might make me throw up).

That is all.

I don't know about this story, but I do get the sense that Clinton would have been happier in her skin if she'd been a Republican (she volunteered for Barry Goldwater's campaign).
