This seemed like fun, more from the point of view of analyzing my own music collection than anything else. I was inclined to disqualify pied_piper70 from playing as I figured it would be too easy for him. But then my collection shuffled such that it was five songs before I heard english and decided he could play after all ( Read more... )

6 Particle Man by They Might Be Giants. yeah that was too easy.
34 Newry Highwayman performed by lots of people.

11 and 17 sound familiar but I can't place them.

AHhh! BUT you are wrong on #6. It was written by TMBG but it was a recording of a children's choir!
And #34 was done by Boiled in lead.

I'm disappointed in you if you can't get #17

That's cheating! How the hell am I supposed to guess the recording band when more than one have recorded it? I'm pretty sure I have Newry Highwayman by at least three different bands. Pah!

And you can feel disappointed in me over #17. I just googled it and am now retreating in shame. I should have known.

#31 - They Might be Giants, "Kiss Me, Son of God"

#27 could be any number of variations - but I'm going to go with "Stille Nacht" by Mannheim Steamroller.
(My luck you have a Vienna Boys Choir recording of it).

I have to think about the rest.

WRONG!! #27 is NOT what you think it is. That version is "Stille Nacht, heilige nacht, Alle schlaeft, einsam wacht."
