what is the significance of 'a cake' here?

A cake is a year of sobriety in Alcoholics Anonymous. One cake is one year sober, 3 year cake is 3 years of sobriety...etc. I have a lot of friends in AA somehow...so, it seems like I go to a lot of meetings. At a cake, other members will talk about the person who's celebrating and then that person will explain there "story" and where they're at now. It tends to be really emotional! It's actually normally a good time. Seriously, you should go sit in on an AA meeting as an experiment and tell me what you think!?! There's good energy!

Hmm. That does sound like powerful energy. But feels somehow wrong to "dabble" ala Fight Club...

I have no doubt in my mind that you would have. I'm sure she's a good kisser! A different time, a different place, a different type of alcohol....and I would too!
