LJ Idol Week 1: Trust Everyone, but cut the cards

I have four drafts scattered across three mediums.

The first draft came to me when I was on the edge of sleep. I shot up, grabbed my phone and cobbled together something that sounded good to someone with their guard down.

I relate to this a lot. There is so much anxiety surrounding my writing and everything that goes with it that even sitting down to do Idol prompts is panic inducing. I almost wrote about that this week, too. Good luck.

So much of art is about revealing the self and that IS scary. I enjoyed this and hope you find safety in writing.

You have so many wonderful stories inside you! Getting them out can be the hard part - what if they don't live up to that first promising glow of an idea? But putting something into the world, sharing a piece of yourself, is realllllly awesome. I'm glad you're taking the risk. <3
