Thank you, this is a great AU for the events in canon. That scene with Neal landing on the ground had so much whump potential, I was so disappointed that it got wasted.

I must have somehow missed this before, but it's really great. I like that it seemed kind of minor at first and then turned out to be serious and got scary with the infection.
