My computer's slowly dying and hasn't been working at all for the past few days, so sorry if I'm totally out of touch. It might be fixable or I might get a new computer, but I'm not sure yet how long it will be until I have something reliable. You probably won't actually see this comment in time, but tell me again what's wrong with it? I can see if Warren has any helpful suggestions. He has an uncanny knack for those.

Hee, now that this thing's working I'm not turning it off tonight.

I took it in and apparently the logic board is deteriorating and my optical drive (I think that's what it's called anyway) that burns discs is failing, which was preventing me from backing stuff up. The tech said it's not worth replacing because the cost is similar to getting a new computer. So that's likely what's going to happen and in the mean time I've got everything backed up on an external hard drive. Thanks for trying to help though.
