We've had plenty of talk about how to get rid of this thing, what it wants, but what do we really know about what it is? Other than hair. I know it's hair, but whose? What's holding it together, animating it? Is it sentient or just reactive? Can we communicate with it? So far I'm guessing a resounding no on the last one, but what the hell,

I came up with a list of all the things it might've been before we knew too much about it. Back when it was just fast and hairy. Did a whole lotta research but nothing I've seen matches hair with tentacles. So...no.
