We are Selfish Pricks.

IPE exam later and I am excited!!! The prospect of filling up the blank exam booklet with my thoughts and the luxury of 2hrs to do an essay... now that's life. No racing against the clock and doing a half-assed job on each of the many essays you have to complete.

Something by way of Jose (courtesy of IPE professor):

hahah i see you've decided to consider kok leong as a 'formidable' opponent.

one doesnt have to adopt ayn rand's looney-ness recognize the value of her ideas, especially with regards to day-to-day interactions or capitalism. i still stand by the idea that she has provided an extremely compelling moral argument against big government.

once again though idealism is a utopian concept. every actionable philosopher (i.e. philosophers who attempt to prescribe behaviour rather than describe behaviour) believes that if everyone does what he or she says they should do, the world will be a better place. The problem only arises when individuals with differing views on morality interact. this really puts me at risk of sounding morally relativist haha. but i suppose thats why some degree of moral uprightness is required of their arguments; to encourage more people to band together with your idea you have to make alternatives immoral.
