And she looks around, after he's gone back, and before she can bring herself to yet.
It's very familiar.
It's very strange.
It's not home anymore. And it used to be.
There are still stuffed animals--three--on her bed, and she sits with one, a tiger, in her arms, and looks around.
Because it was home.

She freezes when she hears noise upstairs. She stands, frozen a moment. Then she picks up a heavy silver candlestick and slowly and quietly walks upstairs.
'A bird got in,' she reassures herself. 'Maybe a squirrel. That's all.' She opens Lucy's bedroom door- and screams in surprise.

"--Hello, Susan."

Cross-legged on her bed that isn't her bed and still holding the tiger as tightly as she can.
