So, after ten years, we have a new Prime Minister. How bizarro is that? I remember the day after Blair and Labour won the general election in 1997, and having to write something about it in school. Me is very curious as well. Let's see how much Brown will actually change. And how the next elections will go.

I remember that when Helmut Kohl lost elections in 1998 (after having been our Chancellor for 16 years no less!) I went like "Wait a second, you can actually vote for another party than the Christian Democrats?!" Of course I knew that technically you could vote for a different party. But until I was 10/11, I had never seen it happen.

It's so odd! One of my friends said she'd been testing herself, so that if someone asked her who the PM was, she wouldn't say 'Tony Blair'.

I can't say that I'm overly optimistic for much change in a direction I'd like, but we'll see what happens.

16 years is a hell of a long time!
