I went to Fred Segal Santa Monica today to check out the annual big blow-out sale. I found a gorgeous tweed Sass & Bide vest with chocolate brown velvet piping for $100 (original price $500) that would have looked fabulous underneath one of my work suits, but I couldn't make myself buy it. Oh crap, sorry. Back tracking in a second!
I adore pencil skirts and am glad that these are perhaps (along with fitted and tailored skirts) are about the only ones that suit me. A-line I cannot wear and .. yeah. It sounds gorgeous though, as does the black silk shirt with white accents.

I actually don't like buying all these new clothes, mostly because of budgetary conservativism, but unfortunately I have to since I work at a place where dressing well is very important and I just don't have a lot of dressy work clothes. I came straight from school so I'm used to wearing jeans every day. *Sigh* I really miss wearing jeans.

Do we have a 'Fred Segal' in NYC? Because I'm jealous. :(
And no pressure whatsoever about 'Complicity'. NONE at all. It's not like I check EVERY day for an update. Just you know, every other day. ;P

Thanks for your continued interest in Complicity, I really appreciate it. I worked on it some over this weekend so I hope to have a chapter posted up soon.

I understand completely -- and I understand also the regretting because it wasn't that expensive relatively. ::sigh::
Suggestion for basics: hit the sale racks at Banana Republic. I've discovered that they mark stuff down to really amazing levels -- and sounds like you'd have more choices than I do. Seriously, I've found blazers for $40 on the racks and nice button down shirts for $20. Since most of their stuff's in a neutral pallette, it's good if you need to fill out the foundation of your wardrobe.

This made me say "Eeee!" You know how much I love Complicity, but while bored at work one day recently, I went back and reread Good Woman, Good Man. I had forgotten how great it was...and yet how different from Complicity.
Hope you feel better soon (and that everything goes OK at work today!).
