LMAO! I don't believe Shonda for a minute. Calzona probably was end game-- on the very last episode of Grey's! We probably would've seen some lame ambiguous scene with Calzona smirking at each other as their hands brushed. Lol ( ... )

Sara's contract was up. There was no firing needed.

This wasn't a SL for Callie's exit though. It was clearly meant to be a cliffhanger & they lucked out. Sara's contract was up. She didn't have to ask for "time off" if she hadn't already planned on coming back but something personal for her may have come up. I don't see how Shonda's trying to spin anything. This was out of her control.

I agree for the most part. I do think between Patrick Dempsey's challenges last season (12),, then departure and Jcap's pregnancy, the reconciliation arc was delayed. Now Sara's break. So a reconciliation is put on hold again. The storyline this season for Callie was terrible. Why has Sara Ramirez been so under utilized the last few seasons? I think Shonda dragged their journey out as long as possible because she knows Calzona is good for ratings. But now Sara's return may or may not be known. Shonda must be concerned about ratings for the fall. I guess we'll see some good guest stars as a result. I do think Shonda wants Callie and Arizona to be endgame.

I'm not watching next season if it's 30 seconds of Arizona each episode.

i agree. i do think Calzona were to reunite earlier than anyone thought but PDs exit delayed everything. And I think this season was supposed to end differently. something was going to spark things between them again where Callies feelings for Arizona reignited or jusr started burning more. We know Arizona still had those feelings. And the ending would have been Callie staying and choosing Arizona or going and coming back to fight for her like you said. Then we have Jcaps pregnancy to contend with ( ... )

I've said before, if it was some written statement that sounded like it was just to appease fans, then I'd probably have a hard time trusting her, but how it came about on the Periscope video was truthful & genuine. And Shonda's not one to give all that info away like that. With how big & important Calzona was, is anyone shocked that she planned on getting them back together? Watching it play out I always had my doubts, but taking a step back, I always thought Calzona would be endgame at some point before the show ended.

I'm still hopeful that Sara can return one day if things work out for her, & if that happens, I do believe Calzona will be together in the end. The only think that sucks is not being able to see the plans Shonda had for Callie after the finale. Obviously if Sara doesn't leave, Callie's not going to NY & if she did, she'd be back pretty quickly.

I, too, call BS. Shonda has had two seasons, 3 "years" in Grey's time, to build towards a Calzona reunion. If she was seriously prolonging this reunion based on the assumption that Sara and Jessica would continue to blindly renew their contracts then she's an idiot - and I don't believe Shonda is that.

What couple has been separated on GA for two+ years and then reunited with no show of lingering feelings on either side? None.

I don't believe that she had a Calzona reunion in store at all. She's saying this to bait Calzona fans and keep them watching in the event of a Sara return ( ... )

But you do realize that had Shonda put Calzona back together for the 2nd time after the divorce, then we'd still be sitting here with Sara wanting to take a break with the prospect of having Calzona yet again break up. To be honest, she didn't need to say this to bait the Calzona fans. Sara's tweet did that all by itself by her specific wording of "but for now I'm taking some welcomed time off". They already had faith that Sara would come back. That's how loyal the Calzona fanbase is. The only thing that Shonda did was make the Calzona fans feel better. I don't think Shonda would want to give Callie Torres this exit. Demoting Callie career wise after working so hard to make it where she is just to follow a resident. There's a reason why the finale didn't look like a real final exit. Because it was clearly supposed to be a cliffhanger which is exactly what it looked like. If you're a casual viewer who doesn't go online, you'd never know whether Callie left or not.

The difference between Shonda's statement and Sara's is that Sara is speaking specifically to her character alone. Callie could come back a million times between now and the series finale and never renter a relationship with Arizona again. Sara's comments made no reference to the pairing ( ... )

I never implied that Sara referenced the pairing. I saw Shonda's statement about her plans for Callie completely aside from her saying she had always planned for Calzona to get back together. She never specified when that would've taken place, but it's obvious that the plans she had for Callie would be in S13 had Sara not left ( ... )

Yeah I don't think we will ever find out the whole truth. It might have been that Sara already indicated earlier this season that she wanted a lighter schedule (like Dempsey?) and maybe that is why Shonda kind of pushed her to the exit? Do you believe for one second that Sara will ever return? Ok, they name it a time off which makes it sound the door is still open. Maybe they agreed that Sara can decide in this time off if she wants to return and if so, she is welcome but if she feels fine without GA, she will never return. And I don't think that she is going to miss it ( ... )

Is there a lesbian couple on a tv show for the moment that is worth following? And I don't mean a SciFi show but more a real life like couple?
But maybe I should stop shipping.

Haha, I'm with you! I go for The Fosters. Love Stef and Lena. Also Person of Interest (which I had not seen one single episode of before this month, but I just happened to see a trailer and well, it strongly implied some steam between Root and Shaw so).
