From what I can tell, you're doing everything right. For instance, joining getithere and bjfic; both will supply you with tons of fic and/or other sites to visit for more fic. The problem, though, isn't you, it's the fandom. When I joined LJ, QAF had just ended. There were still people around and when I started writing my own stories, they commented, we talked, it was fun. But now? Most of those people are no longer here and the few who are don't comment that often. I have about nine-hundred or so mutual friends and I might see one or two a week if I'm lucky. It's sad. People have moved on and the fandom isn't what it used to be
