He asked her to wait and as she did, she seperated herself far enough that he didn't feel her presence during his meditation. She, herself, drifted back and forth reflectively, biding time patiently until she looked up to see him, and the serpent entwined about his frame.

A smile spread as she moved towards him, her muscles tense with delight as she reached out to smooth a hand down the body of the reptile. Her eyes met with his, deeply dark as always but filled with a happiness that he had never seen until then.

'Then we shall begin..' she nodded slowly, slipping her hand down and into his.

In the matter of a quick blink, blackness besieged them and Katie's hand left his. Seconds later, an orange flame ignited in front of him, his goddess's face appearing behind the flame. One by one, candles were set alight as the scenery around them came into view.

The absence of light startled him, but he was unafraid as he waited as ever for the will of the gods to reveal itself to him. There was no fear left in him, though he eased his own apprehension by reaching up to touch the body of the boa wrapped around his torso. The serpent's coils cinched a little tighter, but halted before his breath could be cut off...almost as if it were comforting him.

When the flame ignited, he sought out and found his lover's eyes...not Katie now, but Hekate in all her glory as the world lit in his vision once more.

His path was set...there was no turning back.

Coming fully into view, Hekate's eyes glowed as her image changed from that of her mortal being into the Titan goddess herself. To Dog, she would merely be an unembellished form, free of tattoos and color. Hekate was dressed in the ancient white, baring a medallion set against her shadowed, darkened skin.

She approached him slowly, smiling radiantly as her face neared his. Her hand raised, producing a silver goblet from nothing and set it to his lips.

'And now it's your time...' her eyes spoke to him.

He hesitated only a moment as he reached out and accepted the goblet, peering within at its contents. This had to be it...the ambrosia, the nectar of the gods. This was the end, and the beginning, his rebirth into power...into eternity at her side.

Looking up again to meet her gaze, taking in her true form, as true as mortal eyes could stand, he cradled the goblet between both hands and drew his lips away enough to speak aloud.

"For your love...in your name."

Shutting his eyes, he set his lips to the goblet and drank deep.
