TRIGGER WARNINGS: Gratuitous and mass violence and murder; emotional, psychological, and physical abuse; nonconsensual self-harm and harming others; blackmail/exploitation and maiming. Klaus is a walking trigger.
Prefacing this post saying: Klaus is a sociopath and a monster. I cannot stress that enough.
(If you want an example: once he
compelled a teenage girl to balance on one leg for as long as she could, and then compelled her boyfriend to beat her to death if she dropped it.)
He is impulsively and unforgivably violent and cruel when provoked, and he has a special definition of the word. He's very preemptive about those he thinks will be a threat to him and his goals. He has no regard for life, at all. Human, vampire, werewolf, little green blobby things, it's all the same to him unless you are friends, family, or one of his hybrids, but even then you're not safe, especially if you cross him.
This is going to be long, so I apologize.
Klaus is capable of:
(I copied his from
Klaus' wiki page, if you're interested in reading it.)
- Super Strength: Originals are much stronger than normal vampires, werewolves, and humans. They are able to decapitate other species with a single chop and shatter windows and doors with small objects.
- Super Speed: Originals are much are much faster than normal vampires, werewolves, and humans. They are able to stop other supernatural species in their tracks and run miles in mere minutes.
- Heightened Senses: Original vampires have extremely keen senses of hearing, sight, smell, and taste.
- Super Agility: Originals possess superhuman agility. They can move, jump, climb, and run incredibly fast without difficulty or exhaustion.
- Accelerated Healing: Originals injuries heal faster than normal vampires, werewolves, and humans.
- Durability: Originals can take far more trauma than normal vampires, werewolves, and humans can without much discomfort or injury. Originals can heal faster than normal vampires when exposed to vervain. Wood does not seem to weaken them.
- Mind Compulsion: Originals can compel the minds of humans, vampires, and hybrids, but not witches or werewolves.
- Vervain Detection: They are able to detect when vampires and humans are on vervain. It's unknown if it's due to their advanced age and experience or one of their abilities.
- Immortality: Originals are nearly indestructible, and will live forever.
- Werewolf Bite: Due to their werewolf heritage, a hybrid has a bite which is fatal to vampires. As seen when Klaus bit Katherine, it seems as though a hybrid's bite takes effect quicker than a normal werewolf bite.
- Werewolf Bite Blood Cure: Hybrid blood is capable of healing a vampire from the bites of a hybrid or werewolf.
- Transformation Control: Hybrids have complete control of their transformation into werewolves.
- Daytime Walking: Due to their werewolf heritage, hybrids are able to move around during the day.
- Lie Detection: Hybrids are able to sense if humans are lying or not.
Klaus' weaknesses:
(I copied his from
Klaus' wiki page too.)
- White Oak Stake: is the only thing that can permanently kill an Original. It comes from an Ancient White Oak tree during the time of the genesis of the Vampire Race. As far as we know there is only one and Klaus didn't bring it with him.
- Vervain: Vervain burns originals just like it does with the other vampires, although an original will heal very fast to the point where the damage done by the vervain is gone in seconds.
- Wolfsbane: The same principles apply to wolfsbane.
- Uninvited Invitation: In order to enter any house owned by human/s, they have to be invited by the owner or someone who lives there. Once invited the vampire cannot be uninvited. If a vampire lives in a house, other vampires can enter freely and if vampire is in the house without being invited in, it will become disoriented, suffocate, and have to leave.
- Powerful Magic: Very, very powerful magic. During the Sacrifice, Klaus was only affected by the power and fury of a hundred dead witches while he was in transition, which is a naturally weakened state to begin with. But, it is possible.
PERMISSIONS:
In an interaction with Klaus, these are possible things that he might be tempted to do:
- Compulsion:
Bend you to his will, make you his errand-person/minion, and plan to keep you so long as you are useful to him. - Kill:
I don't suppose this will be an option, but a few of you public hero types (you know who you are) he will want to kill at all times, as opposed to being indifferent to your existence or death. - Blackmail/Exploitation:
He will kill, attempt to kill, maim, and/or mutilate everyone you've ever said hello to or loved to get what he wants. That's his preferred way to get things done. - Maim:
This is pretty self-explanatory. He might attempt to rip your throat out, break your arm, play a game of darts on your face, etc. (Or compel someone to do it for him. Probably that before he does it himself.)
Please fill this out!
after being asked, are you comfortable with klaus compelling your character(s)?: do you have a legitimate reason why klaus might not be able to compel your character(s)? after being asked, are you comfortable with klaus attempting to blackmail/blackmailing your character(s)?: after being asked, are you comfortable with klaus maiming your character(s)?: do you have a legitimate reason why klaus might not be able to maim your character(s)? anything else about your character(s) that might work against klaus' abilities? is your character(s) a witch, werewolf, etc. (any supernatural being)?is this ability public knowledge?if not, does stefan salvatore know of this ability? does your character(s) have an ability?is this ability public knowledge?if not, does stefan salvatore know of this ability? is your character(s) publicly friends with:
elena gilbert, tyler lockwood, caroline forbes, or buffy summers? anything else? Lastly, Stefan and Klaus are compiling an ongoing
list of people they are most interested in terrorizing. Are you comfortable with a) your character being on it, b) what you think/say about your character being on it?
Also, If you'd prefer to keep your character out of Klaus' plans, let me know! Here is Klaus'
app and
a post describing him and his motivations more clearly. If you want to know more about him or have any questions, you can comment, private message his journal, or reach me
on plurk. You can also reach me on AIM: fancynewwhatever.
Most importantly, we (Brandon and I) want to stress how the last thing we want to do is godmod anything or anyone. Klaus is obviously very powerful and isn't afraid of exercising that or using Stefan (or anyone else) to do it, so we do not want under any circumstances to step on toes. Evereverever, even a little bit. Please let us know what's okay and what isn't and we will take every effort to check and plot with you about any ideas we might have. AND OF COURSE, WE WANT TO HEAR YOURS.
Also, I want to assure everyone that I will always, always include a trigger warning where needed. Which will probably be… everywhere.
