My abiding memories are of Robert Shaw's bluff and terrifying Henry and Vanessa Redgrave's radiant and fascinating Anne Boleyn.

Richard Rich was one of the great political survivors and a total bastard, A few years back I made a "pilgrimage" to view his magnificent tomb at Felsted in Essex. The effigy, with its very long Elizabethan beard is really quite creepy- and I don't think that's wholly my imagination.....

It certainly is memorable. Vanessa Redgrave is only on screen for a few seconds and she's just luminous.
Robert Shaw was so good as Henry; better than Damien Lewis (whom I like) in the TV Wolf Hall.

I can live without seeing that tomb.
