They admitted my grandfather into the hospital last week.  He was having blood in his urine and they couldn't figure out where it was coming from.  While he was there, he started having problems breathing and chest pains so they moved him to the ICU. Meanwhile, they did x rays on his pelvis since he'd been complaining of pain when sitting and found

I'm sorry about your grandfather. It's hard to have that time frame. Visiting him is a good idea.

Yes, I do want to see him as soon as I can. I'm feeling a bit guilty for leaving them, even though I know it was the right thing for me to do.

Aw, sorry about your granddad. For all that it is inevitable, dealing with and easing an aging family member's final decline is still brutal.
