Nicotine: check.

Games: notcheck.

This.. is not good.

I'm getting bored. So bored I've started messing with things.. I took that palm-pilot thing apart and put it back together again.. I already overclocked this laptop.. It hasn't exploded.. Yet. It's running with 20% performance increase, but since I don't have anything to do with it, it's ( Read more... )

If it works out I could do it to yours, too.

You've overclocked it? Have there been any problems with the process?

Not so far. Thank god. That palm pilot thing really.. Sucks.

That's really interesting. I thought that our communication devices weren't modifiable. Did you put a lot of effort in doing so?

Not too much. It was easier once I figured it out. But I doubt I could do anything else to them. It didn't seem like there was a way to add anything, just push whatever it had further than it was already going.

Good job.

I was unaware that you were good at computers.

Thanks! I think?

What? You thought I just sat around all day playing video games? I doubt they would have kept me in Wammy's if I wasn't good at something useful..

As far as I know, your main hobby has always been to sleep around.

What're you talking about?!

Just be careful messing with the tech mate, for all we know they don’t have a computer shop around here Or people have been hiding really important information like that from me

Is it just me or is there something strange about the whole system set up?

[OOC: Asked Ci about what the computers run from and she said magic so Matt’s a bit puzzled...well I am XD]

Even if there isn't I still have this.. Palm Pilot thing. Even though it's t3h_gh3i.

It is strange. It's a pretty.. locked-in intranet from the looks of it. I can't access anything outside of it. I can't even check my e-mail..

((ooc: I asked! XD The OS is what is magic, not the computers. Or so she says now. xD So it's okay that Matt messed with it. Besides, if anyone can figure out how to overclock a magical computer, Matt would be the one, right? XD))

Oh god tell me about it, mine still picks up static like hell. I'm contemplating swapping it with someone else less computer savvy without their notice

I was going to go and look to see if there were any outside lines or cables but I think that would be a waste. It's truly not of this world.

I'm glad you have your cigs now.

[OOC:Ah yeah it's the OS I meant, DOH! I was going to have Matt rant about the wonders of a UNIX system to the ghosts but he shall behave himself now XD]

It's a conspiracy. It turns out mine was only making bad static noises because yours was. It recorded me playing air guitar and singing 'Through the Fire and the Flames' at the top of my lungs earlier today just fine. For the sake of my dignity, I didn't post it.

Actually, it is of this world, just not of ours. It's more complex than the United States Coast Guard's. I'd know, because I tried hacking that once. Not my brightest of ideas..

By the way, if the friendlier Near ever tries to tell you anything about the you from his world or whatever, cover your ears, sing, and walk away briskly.

If you're going stir crazy, there's always the possibility that you can visit the town? I didn't see anything like a computer store there, but you can probably tinker with any machinery I may have overlooked. At least to assuage the boredom, right?

Tell me what you figured out about the OS and the general specs of the system overall. Someone else has been looking into it and said that it was acting very strange.

Yeah, I guess. I have plans to go with someone soon, but I have to find a crowbar or something first.

It's hard to explain both.. Nothing on any of these things is labelled, so there's not much that can be said. Everything I did was mostly trial and error and experience. I'm still skeptical of it, though, all of that considered..

As for the OS.. I can't figure out anything about it. Like there isn't even any code or anything, like it's not made of code, but something else. I have no idea what, though.

Who are you planning on going with, exactly?

I've been seeing the same thing, so far as the 'lack of code' thing goes for that OS. I just figured that the Ringmaster had walled us off from being able to access those files or even see them at work, but you seem to be a bit more of an expert at hacking than myself... if you can't see it, it's either very very well hidden or not there- which is impossible, right?

... ... ... Near?

It should be impossible, but.. Considering this place has ghosts, zombies that don't want my brains--that I know of--and cat-shark-men, I'd say it's pretty possible.

((ooc: Matt = preparing for shitstorm in 3.. 2..))
