the trouble with befriending the leader of a motorcycle gang is that at the end of the day, he's still the leader of a motorcycle gang.
five things to know about eli weevil navarro:
1. he's very picky about who calls him eli. it's not a closeness thing, or an age thing, or really any 'thing' he can put his finger on. if i, the mun, had to narrow it down, i'd probably say the people he lets call him eli are the ones he doesn't feel like are making fun of him when they say it.
2. weevil is like a very ritzy club. either you're on the list or you're not. if you are, then you get all the benefits of being someone he looks out for. he'll go to the ends of the earth for you if he can. which isn't to say he won't weigh what it'll cost him, and sometimes he won't be able to help, but if you're on his short list of people who matter, he really will do whatever he can, even if it's an inconvenience. if you're not on the list, though, or a close personal friend of someone who is, a favor from him is not likely to be in your future.
3. weevil acts just about exactly how you'd expect a guy named weevil to act, and he enjoys doing it. he's a badass (obviously) and likes sticking in other people's faces that he doesn't need their approval. to women, he'll say the crassest, most innuendo-laden thing that comes into his head, and he'll usually get away with it, because he's cute enough to, and he knows that, too. he's taken the poor hispanic ruffian stereotype that people in neptune use to malign him, and made it something he's proud of; in fact, he's used it so strictly to define himself that when his status as leader of the motorcycle gang is taken away from him, he's not quite sure what to do with himself. if people don't fear him, he isn't really sure who he is or what he stands for, or what use he is to anyone around him.
4. this is pretty much a given if you've seen the show, but for anyone who hasn't : he's still quietly, desperately in love with lilly kane. he's got the hots for veronica too, of course, but he really thinks of lilly as the love of his life, and it would take someone *extremely* special to really make him fall in love with her.
5. he'd never admit it, but he loves to dance, and he's good at it. not just good old-fashioned bump'n'grind either; his grandma taught him how to salsa, merengue, and pretty much any other kind of sexy dancing you can think of. let me repeat : he'd never admit it. but if he was drunk enough, he might give a demonstration. ;)
